Immaculate, unaltered flat in a quiet area of the friendly town of Southam in Warwickshire. The flat has recent new carpets, recent lino kitchen floor and a recent new walk-in shower - a 'wet room.' The flat is next to a school and you get happy children playing nearby under supervision. A lovely place to live.
The people of Southam are exemplary - you'll often end up in conversation with strangers while out walking and, if you fancy a drink, the pubs are all friendly.
There's a Tesco about three quarters of a mile away or a Co-op about 150 yards away in the town centre. We have a weekly, very affordable hairdresser who comes on Thursdays (with her own salon) and even a mobile fish & chip van on Wednesdays. Each morning, you can go to the coffee mornings in the communal lounge for a chat and catch-up.
It's important to note that you must be 55 or older to live here. There are pull-chord alarms in the hall and shower room, as well as a lanyard alarm to hang around your neck if you wish. You can get a daily call on the intercom to make sure all is well, or decline the calls if you prefer.
NOTE: Just because this is classed as 'assisted living' - does not mean that you have to be disabled, or have carers. Indeed, I am fortunate to be healthy and fit - and still I'm eligible for my flat.
